Ram Mandir, also known as Lord Ram Temple, is a Hindu temple under construction in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. 1949: Ram Idol is found in a mosque adding to communal excitement.

1950: Two suits are filed in the Faizabad Civil Court seeking permission to worship idols.

1961: UP Sunni Central Wakf board demands removal of idol.

1986: The Allahabad High Court orders that the disputed land be divided equally between three parties: Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla Virajman.

1992: The Babri Masjid is demolished, leading to widespread violence and riots.

2019: Supreme Court of India upholds construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple on site.

2020: Ground breaking and foundation stone laying of Ram Mandir will be held on August 5 using bricks with ” Jai Shree Ramandquot; engraved on them.

2024: The first phase of construction is complete and all construction is expected to be completed by January 2024.
